How To Reset Gut Health For Glowing Skin

Unlock the secret to healthy skin

Reset Gut Health For Glowing Skin
Raise your hand if you're a stress-eater expert! Feeling down? Nothing a margherita can't fix, right? Well, we've all been there. But girl, that binging on fries might be a major reason your skin has been breaking out. ‍Sometimes that greasy burger feels like the only cure for a bad day; but have you ever noticed how those ‘feel-good’ treats are a skin disaster? The dreaded cycle of popping a pimple, instantly feeling low and then ending up ordering a triple cheese burger is real. But wait, hold up! Is there any truth to this whole ‘health gut = healthy skin’ thing?

Here's how those not-so-healthy choices mess with your skin:
  • Inflammation station:
  • Fried foods, sugary drinks, and processed snacks can trigger inflammation throughout your body, leading to skin redness, puffiness, breakouts... the list goes on.

  • Breeding bacteria:
  • Your gut is crawling with good and bad bacteria. Bad food, typically spoiled or contaminated with bacteria, can cause foodborne illness which affects your gut. Skin infections are caused by different bacteria that get onto your skin.

  • Lack nutrients:
  • Junk food is a nutrient desert. It lacks the vitamins and minerals and makes your skin look dull, dry and pale.

  • Immune system:
  • The gut is a major player in your immune system. An imbalanced gut can disrupt the immune system, making you more prone to skin infections and sensitivities.

How To Reset Your Gut Health?

  • Eat healthy food, especially food with Vitamin C:
  • A balanced diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains provides your body with the nutrients it needs for healthy skin. Vitamin C, in particular, is an antioxidant that helps fight inflammation, which can contribute to breakouts.

  • Drink lots of water:
  • Staying hydrated helps flush toxins from your body and keeps your skin plump and glowing. Dehydration can make your skin look dull and contribute to breakouts.

  • Exercise:
  • Exercise helps improve circulation and reduce stress hormones, both of which can contribute to breakouts. Just remember to shower or wash your face after sweating to remove dirt and oil.

  • Follow a skincare routine:
  • This includes cleansing, moisturising, applying SPF. Including serums is also very important for clear glowing glass-like skin.
